Mahalo to the FMA National Conference Delegation for representing Chapter 19. Eric Kimura, Chapter President; Melissa Lamerson, Chapter Vice President; and Llyod Fujimoto, Chapter Director, attended the 2-day conference and visited with our elected officials and their Congressional Staffs.
At the conference, elections were held for National Board positions. Congratulations to Renee Johnson and Christine Parker who were re-elected to another 2-year term as National President and Secretary respectively and to Pauline Coleman-Sutton, our own Region 3 Director, on her re-election to another 2-year term.
A 4.9% dues increase was approved to commence in FY 19 however the increase will be absorbed in our current Chapter budget and we should not need to increase our dues for a few years yet.
Chapter 19 received two National and 2 Regional (Region 3) awards. For outstanding Chapter Leadership as a past or current Chapter President, Brendan Cravalho received the Gil Guidry award. Eric Kimura received the FMA Manager of the Year award. Varney Range received the Top Recruiter of the year for Region 3 (11 members) and Chapter 19 received a commendation from Region 3 and Region 4 Directors for outstanding Regional Conference. The Chapter itself received an award for holding a great regional conference in November. This award was in recognition of the hard work by the chapter members and the committee led by Brendan.
Join us on Thursday, 26 April, at the next General Members Meeting to get the firsthand account of the conference and our delegation’s meetings with all four Hawaii Congressional Staffs. Meeting announcement is forthcoming.
